Good News Ladies!
I’ve found a fun place to go for body, mind and soul thanks to Loren sharing this wonderful news!
Women’s Group (Women’s Program) is being held weekly every Monday, and Thursday from 1 to 3 pm est at Community House, 20 Bowden St. Fort Erie Phone: 289 320 9505
*homework help is provided and I hear they have ways to show single mom’s how to go to college and get child care funding from the government – this also applies to teen’s who want to continue their high school education – there are programs available to help you do that, so that you can graduate and add this onto your resume when you decide what career you want to follow*
It’s a nice cosy group I met Nov 21, 2013 – I got to hold a talking stick with feathers and beads on it (It was native looking?) and introduce myself as Linda the blogger 🙂
Then Tina, Lee, Becky, Loren, Jessica and Debbie did the same.
Debbie is the Facilitator and Becky is (I think a co-op social services student but don’t quote me on that!)
Oh yes, and our littlest entertainer was named Brock age 2 and cute as a button (he’s the perfect child for commercials if Loren his mom is interested.)

We sat around the round table, introduce ourselves, and then filled out forms for each binder (I get one at a future meeting- ahem, pink flowers are my favorite in case anyone’s choosing a design for moi.)
There is a sign in sheet you put your name on so they can keep track of how many participants are in this program.
Then the fun began – sharing goals, dreams and what’s new for the week.
Then it was how does linny make coffee with this cool Kreig? I forget the name of it – gourmet coffee maker – the library has one too with all sorts of flavors to choose from (library = $1.00 women’s group = FREE (reg coffee flavor very tasty brewed).
So Jessica and I were having a good chuckle about this machine as it gurgles the hot water, then has blue flashing lights on it, which I thought looked like a UFO signal (alien’s on the brain – always) and then Becky and Debbie came to the rescue, touch this button to start, and this button to brew.
All quite easy but… with no reading glasses on Linny couldn’t figure anything out, so note to marketing department all coffee maker machines put in stores must have BIG 16 size font for most people to read over ages 25 (anyone with reading glasses). 🙂
So we had coffee, tea, and I added a scoop of Rolo hot chocolate (yummy i love rolo icecream) and made a mocha coffee.
Then we all sat at the table, and did 3 quizzes.
this weeks topic was “Values, Interests, and skills.”

Becky and Loren took turns reading questions and we circled if it’s always, not always, 5 choices cannot remember them but you get the gist of it, yes I do, no i don’t, sometimes I do is what they mean.

Then we went out to the kitchen and rolled dough to make pretzels (Debbie and Becky showed us how to MAKE the recipe first)

Lee got to paint them all with butter (not us, the pretzels lol).
Then Debbie put them in the oven at 425° for 10 or 15 mins (she has a recipe).
They were very tasty!
We went back to the table and did our quiz again.
After eating them, and getting ready to leave, Debbie made up kit’s for people to take home to bake it on their own – with a free red tea towel!
I thought that was the coolest thing of all.
It was a nice positive atmosphere, friendly and fun. I can’t wait to go back!
